An awareness issue, not a blanket rule
Not every AI service handles business data the same way.
Consumer and free AI tools can have different privacy, retention, account, model-improvement, and administrative settings from managed business offerings. That difference matters when someone is considering pasting proprietary work, customer information, or sensitive business context into a tool.
It would be inaccurate to say that every free large-language-model tool, Gemini service, or AI assistant trains on every upload. The useful business question is narrower: what do this service’s actual terms, settings, and business data controls say about the information the team wants to share?
That question supports useful AI adoption without assuming every convenient tool is appropriate for every kind of work.
